A number of emerging actors including Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and – more recently – Saudi Arabia are entering the mediation scene. They are becoming increasingly relevant for brokering deals and mitigating violent conflicts in the Gulf region and beyond.
This panel will dive into the practices of these regional mediation actors and the highly needed innovative solutions their culturally embedded mediation approaches can offer in conflict-ridden regions. It will also unpack the concepts that are developing as a result of these new dynamics.
