The cascading effects of environmental degradation and climate change have emerged as a defining challenge for peacebuilding in the 21st century. Nevertheless, only a handful of peace agreements specifically address climate change and questions persist over the extent to which peace and dialogue processes can and should seek to support broader environmental objectives.
This PeaceLab will take stock of existing knowledge in this area, facilitate an exchange on good practices from different contexts, and cultivate fresh ideas for innovative approaches. Tangible recommendations will be developed to leverage climate action and mediation for shared objectives.
